Warm Up Your Winter with Whiskey: Trippas White Group’s Spirited Season of Sips

By Marie-Antoinette Issa.

If your idea of a perfect Winter’s day includes a roaring fire, hearty food and a rich glass of whiskey in hand, then consider yourself cordially invited to Trippas White Group’s Winter of Whiskey

Running throughout July and August, this new campaign is taking over some of the most iconic hospitality venues across Sydney and Brisbane, transforming the chill in the air into the perfect excuse to gather, sip and savour.

Partnering with Buffalo Trace - the world’s most awarded distillery - this campaign champions the spirit’s warmth, complexity and deep flavour profile across a suite of experiences designed to delight whiskey lovers and curious sippers alike.

Spirited Specials across the City

The campaign pours generously across several of Trippas White Group’s standout locations - including Bar 83 and SkyFeast at Sydney Tower, Botanic House, Me-Gal at Taronga Zoo and The Lookout Echo Point in the Blue Mountains.

Across these venues, guests can enjoy 50% off Buffalo Trace Bourbon & Cokes and Old Fashioneds - making it easier (and more affordable) than ever to warm up from the inside out.

Meanwhile, Brisbane’s riverside Mary Mae’s is serving up the same seasonal spirit with live music sessions every weekend to match your glass with a groove.

Bottomless Thursdays at ESQ

Similarly, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at ESQ in the Queen Victoria Building have never looked so good - or tasted so American. For $95 per person, guests can indulge in bottomless Old Fashioneds and a menu of classic BBQ plates that pay tribute to the whiskey’s southern roots.

Think clam and sweet corn hushpuppies topped with smoked creme fraiche and salmon roe, bourbon-buttered skirt steak and strawberry and brown sugar crumble. The pairings have been thoughtfully designed to complement the spiced vanilla notes of Buffalo Trace, making it a full-flavoured journey from start to finish. Seatings start at 6 pm, and bookings are highly recommended.

A Festival for the Whiskey Devotee

For the true whiskey worshippers, there’s High & Low, a full-blown festival of whiskey, beer and live music happening Saturday, August 16 at Porterhouse. Spanning three levels, the event will showcase tastings from more than 75 whiskey brands, each with brand ambassadors on hand to guide you through every sip.

A Young Henry’s pop-up will headline the top floor with ready-to-drink options and toe-tapping live sets. Tickets ($85) include a burger, tote bag, $20 food voucher and enough pours to keep you warm and very happy for the entire afternoon. Whether you're an aficionado or just whiskey-curious, this event promises a rollicking good time in a gloriously spirited setting.

Sober Curious Sips

Non-drinkers won’t be left high and dry either. Trippas White Group is also showcasing Lyre’s American Malt - a non-alcoholic whiskey alternative that brings a smoky, caramelised depth without the booze. With $1 from every Lyre’s cocktail donated to Dry July, it’s a feel-good way to sip socially.

Sip Slowly, Stay Social

"Whiskey is full of character. It’s bold, warming and made for slow sipping - perfect for hunkering down in the colder months with friends and family,” says Lee Potter Cavanagh, Group Bartender at Trippas White Group. The aim, he says, is to turn Winter into a season of connection, flavour and a little bit of fire in every glass.

Buffalo Trace’s Brand Manager, Alice Fuller, echoes the sentiment: "This is a celebration of bold flavour, great company and unforgettable settings. Buffalo Trace is made for moments like these - where craft meets culture and every sip tells a story.”

With picturesque venues, expertly mixed drinks and menus designed to match, Winter of Whiskey is an invitation to embrace the cold with a bit of heat - and maybe a few new whiskey favourites along the way.
